D2 slow and jerky most of the time

My Droid 2 seems to be getting slower and kind of .... jerky, for lack of a better term. Kind of like a PC when it doesn't have enough ram or whatever. Can the OS on a Droid have like, virus issues or something like that? Is there some way to restore it to a stock OS, or better yet, update the OS to make it work like it use to? It says my system version is 2.2 and that it is up to date. What else can I do to it?

You absolutely could have apps on there slowing down your phone and stealing your data. What you call it is irrelevant.

Make sure if you have a task killer or antivirus to uninstall them both and reboot.

I have a task killer that I always activate first thing. What antivirus is good? Is there any way to restore the thing like on a PC? Should I be looking at upgrading the OS?

Task killers are counter productive on froyo. Don't use them. Try this app, it's called fast reboot. I use it many times a day. It's free in the market, and i would put it on your home screen for easy access. Try it. It frees up memory by restarting everything without rebooting the phone

Task killers are not counter productive on Froyo. Clueless users mindlessly killing apps is counter productive. But you won't catch that rogue app slowing down your phone without a task killer.
