D2G contacts improperly stored when the same toll-free number prefix is used

I wonder if anybody has a fix for the following very annoying problem that has cropped up when I switched from D Original to D2G: I do quite a bit of international calling using a toll free service (Startec): I place a 1-800 number with a pause or wait in front of my international number and pay cents per minute. However, the updated version of Contacts mistakenly assumes that if the first 10 digits are the same, the numbers are identical and merges/throws away all the other numbers under a given contact that were stored separately before I added the toll free prefix (Home, Mobile, Work etc.)--stupidity to the n-th power... Of course, I could store each number under a separate contact, but that defeats the purpose of multiple number choices under a single contact!

Any wise words of advice or possible fixes?

I think it would be much better if you choose the second option for storing the international numbers. I know that it doesn’t fulfill your basic requirements but at least it will ease the complications of saving the numbers under same contact.
