I did a small search on this, and didn't find much of relevance.

I'm having problems with my Droid 2 Global locking up on me at random times, I've had it only 2 months, and it just started this a few days ago. When it does this I can't make it do anything, not even restart, for around 5-10 minutes.
The only way to make it work without the wait is by removing the battery and then replacing.

If anyone knows a way to fix this, it would be much appreciated.

I know better than virus protection Apps, I noted how they slow the pc, so I never put one on my phone.

I did install a few different Apps over the past few days, I considered this beforehand, and removed the one I thought most likely. I'm still waiting to see if it solved the problem.

My droid was a feezing a few days ago, experiencing the same problems. Check to see if any apps need updates. Go Launcher was feezing droids. After the update my phones been working fine

As far as virus protector apps, lookout is good and it doesn't slow your phone down. I didn't find much use for the app so I no longer use it

Have you tried doing a factory reset yet? That fix's most problems because most are related to something you have done (ie, app that doesnt like your phone). After you do it try reinstalling your apps 1 by 1 until it doesnt do it anymore and then youve found your culprit.

Lookout also drains your battery...why would you bother with antivirus any ways? The Android os is a linux base and there are very few virus's written for linux.......

I don't have lookout either, but I think I did find the culprit. I haven't had a problem so far since removing one app that I suspected

Thats good, what was it?

The lookout/antivirus comment was mostly directed to Stevedl86, not you.

It was this calorie counter thing, a lot of Droid X users said it froze them up, sand so I thought it must be that.
Didn't need it anyway, it would eventually have driven me bonkers xD

I have read so many people saying that lookout would slow down their device or cause problems, but after the recent trojan apps in the market, I decided to install it.

It doesn't slow it down at all. It only scans the entire device when you schedule it or run it manually. It also scans apps that you are downloading.
Outside of that, it sits in background just like any other app.

It was malware, not a virus.

OP, I agree with 13th Angel is you are still having issues do a factory data reset out of your privacy section.

Your point is?
Lookout scans for malicious apps.
It identified spider man as a Trojan, that's one of the apps on the list.

It seems to be all well and fine now.
And I'm not really interested in going for virus protection as of right now, if I should ever feel the need for concern, I may change my mind, but it seems just like a waste of space at this moment.

my fitness pal is a good cal counter and it doesn't freeze up

That's actually the one I had...
I don't think that it does it to everyone, but allot of DX owners were saying it froze theirs. I chose it for it's rating, I always choose the highest rated ones.
