Has anyone else been having problems with the droid 3 sounds after the update? Since the update when someone callsme sometimes it will ring other time I just hear a little static then no sound just vibrate. Plus my gallery dont work right and now my phone will turn it self on! Wondering is motorola is working on these things yet?

I had the original Droid and now the Droid 3. My girlfriend has the Droid X. On every one of these we've experienced weirdness with ringing. Either:
1) the phone does not ring or vibrate at all as if the phone was disconnected from the network
2) the phone vibrates but plays the default ringtone or no ringtone instead of the one that is set
Thankfully, the problem seems to happen very rarely. Moto has been made aware of this problem via their support forums. I think there may be a Google code issue for this too.

I don't use the Gallery any more because I prefer QuickPic, free from the market.

The turning itself on bug is also known by Moto and occurs on more phones than just the Droid 3.

Plus now my camera FC over half the time now. I could not wait for the new update because of the camera blue tint. Now that is fix now I am having FC problems and now the shutter speed is way too slow.

Your phone is still listed as Droid 2. You have the 3 now, right?

The camera force closing is odd. I experienced that once before the update but never since. Some ideas for the cam problem:

1) clear cam data via phone settings > applications > manage applications > all > camera > clear data. Cam settings will likely be reset so you'll have to redo your cam preferences.

2) download another camera app. Turn down size of pic to 3MP or so to speed up "shutter"

3) clear system partition cache

4) if all else fails, consider a factory reset.

i also have the sound problem although its not rare for me. It's like all the time, both my alarm and my audible touch tones don't even make sound they just vibrate. At first i thought it was my phone starting to be defective but then i realized i can still hear games and if i go into the the choose ringtone option the samples of the ringtones still play.

I have noticed that, since the last update, my D3 messes up the ringtone quite often.
I can't really describe it besides comparing it to passing the ringtone through a synthesizer. Doesn't really bother me, its like having a new ringtone each time! haha.

For me, these problems of the incorrect ringtone occurs when I am using custom ringtones. When the custom ringtones reside on a External SD, it takes longer to access them. The lower the class number of the External SD, the slower the access. If there is a delay in accessing the custom ringtone, then I get the default ringtone. This problem occurred with regularity onmy OG Droid, but I have not encountered it yet on my Droid 3.

Other may have a better understanding of the problem.
