Dealing with Verizon...

I've been a Verizon customer ever since way back when it was Airtouch Cellular. My 2 years is up on Marh 10th, but I'd sure like to get my Droid sooner than that. I've asked at the V Store a couple of times, but they don't seem to want want to let me move up from my Blackberry Curve until March 10th. Does anyone out there have any suggestions on how I can get this done sooner without having to hock my motorcycle along with the 2 family cats? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

I just e-mailed Verizon Support saying I want to get a DROID but my New Every 2 Year isn't up till January. (This was back in december).

The person just replied and said something like: "Thank you for your interest in DROID, I unlocked your New every 2 Year Discount, you can use it immediately if you wish."

That was it.

Call customer service, I NEVER go to the stores, reps on the phone always worked with me. I also have threatened to leave and they will come up with all kinds of discounts to keep you. Ask for the loyalty program.

Try calling Verizon and threaten to leave to T-Mobile for the nexus1.. lol

T-Mobile...Hmmm... I think they might see through that one!!! They can say what they want about Nexus. It's still not a Droid and I wouldn't wish T-Mobile on my worse enemy.

I think that may be my best option. I'm a Volunteer Coordinator with the Metro Fre CERT Program and really need the capibilities of the Droid in order to help be better prepared in case there's a disaster situation. It's a public service and safety thing!!! That might work :icon_wink:

My "new every two" wasn't due until July...but in November I got a text message saying I was eligible for an early upgrade. Just had to resign a 2 year contract.

I went to the store 4 months before my upgrade date, and they just said we will waive the additional cost. I did upgrade 2 phones to droids at the same time though.
