Deleting boot animation

If I delete the boot animation, will the phone boot up faster? Is there any negative effect of doing it?

If you want to boot faster install the Droid X boot animation, thats what I did and the different is huge!!

it wont make any difference....

if you delete it all you will get is a black screen instead of an animation...

Deleting Droid Boot Animation

Ok.. I downloaded the bootanimation.zip. Now what? I have no clue what I do next. I don't like the droidx'eye' on my phone and I am not capable enough to make a custom boot screen, so I would rather just get rid of the droidx 'eye' all together... Can anyone help me?

Boot speed has exactly 0 to do with the boot animation... It's just a picture that loops until the phone's done booting.
