developer options

Could someone give me a quick idea of v how the developers options are used? Anything fun for the just above average user like me?

If this is covered somewhere else, please point me to it.
 
I think the only one you might ever be interested in would be USB Debugging Mode, because you need that turned on for most root methods as well as recovery. Also you can turn off the screen animations and transition animations, I always turn those off to make things run smoother.

Thanks, i have used usb debugging with my old phone when tethering and rooting. I don't plan on rooting my razr at this point, but maybe in the future. I'm very happy with it as it is, and with the option to disable apps, that takes about 80% of the root appeal at least for me
 
If you go into settings, then go to the More tab, then about phone, scroll to the bottom and tap build number 7 times you get access to the developer options
 
Thanks for the tip! Its the same way on the Nexus 7 and many other Jelly Bean devices.
