"Device driver" won't install?!?! Please help meee!

When I plug my Droid into my laptop, the top bar says its charging and usb connected. Then Windows tries to install the software for it. But it ALWAYS says: "Device driver software was not successfully installed." and the phone stops charging.

Anybody know how I can connect this thing to my laptop.

Plug it in>Pull down the notification bar> Select mount....

Scratch that.

There is not mount option in the drop down menu. Now what lol.

Can anybody help me out here??? I can't do anything without pluggin in this stupid phone lol.

Try rebooting your phone and Laptop. If that doesn't work than try a different computer, if that doesn't work than there may be a problem with your phone...
