I saw on another forum someone said they got it last night on one of their 2 razr maxx phones, just curious if anyone else has gotten the 6.12.181 OTA update to gb? I'm hoping it helps with my only issue, which is Wifi not working correctly.

Thanks...

I would love to get it, has anyone heard of a delay or anything? Vzw keeps saying its out there.... but what do they know.

So as of yet, I'm in the no category.

Verizon never said it was out there. The soak test should be ending, so if there were no major issues, the updates generally get pushed out to everyone within a week's time from the end of the test.

Verizon's cs has said to me on 3 different occasions, that its released. As I always say, take it with a grain of salt.

In fact one that I spoke to today said that if I didn't have it, I should try a factory reset!! Lmao. And that it was released on April 3rd!! And here's the best part... that this update is.... DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!!!!...............ICS. I hung up.

Just more proof that Verizon's customer service has no idea what they're talking about when it comes to the release of updates. If it had been released to everyone, more people would have it by now. :)

The soak test ended today, and it doesn't look like there's a reason to hold the update back, so it shouldn't be long before the general release.

That's good to know... ty for the info.

Its laughable what the cs at vzw will tell you.

The reason it came up is that I'm getting a xyboard 8.2... and I was asking about if it would matter if i moved files between gingerbread and honeycomb. She said don't you mean ics??

I said no, I mean gingerbread and honeycomb... she said that the maxx is being updated to ics and that the update had been released April 4th.. I laughed and said that was wrong.

As for the other times, I asked at the local store and over the phone, and got the answer of, the new ota is out.

VZW FAIL!!!!!!

I received my update this morning when I pulled my phone off the charger. Downloaded with no problems at all. I'm in VA!!:).

I got it in VA. Not sure what it's supposed to do/fix. Anyone know?

I received it this morning also when I went in and checked the systems updates. I haven't really noticed anything different. It didn't solve my haptic feedback problem though. The vibration still fades out and in.

Motorola has released an OTA update for their Droid RAZR and RAZR MAXX devices. The update will bring devices to 6.12.181 and is currently being pushed out over the air by Verizon. While the update isn't Ice Cream Sandwich, it does bring quite a few notable fixes including:

- Optimized device performance to extend battery life
- Improved text messaging to ensure timely receiving of texts
- Modified the storage settings screen to clarify total, available, and used storage space
- Implemented IPV6 support over cellular connection and WiFi to facilitate updated interaction with the network
- Corrected 4G coverage indicator to accurately display data connectivity
- Improved Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity when utilizing WPS security
- Enhanced device security preventing unauthorized access of telephony database by 3rd parties
- Added new MotoCast widget to enable easier access to MotoCast files
- Implemented several fixes to improve MotoCast performance
- Improved visual voicemail performance with data disabled and visual voicemail notification delivery
- Corrected loud call end and connect tones over Bluetooth®
- Fixed Share app functionality to directs users to the app page in Google Play
- Added easy access to bookmarks through a press and hold on the back key

If you haven't received the update you can manually check for it by going to setting>about phone>system update. Check it out and let us know what you think.

I just got it 5min ago. Can't tell a difference though. I would rather have ics

Sent from my DROID RAZR using DroidForums

17mb I was not expecting to notice much of a visual difference, but I do have the update and have not noticed any internal changes. Hopefully my data will stop dropping for no reason, that was happening recently with the older .173.
