Direct Download of MP3 files

I have a droid x and verizon service. At a national battlefield I recently visited, I was told I could get commentary on the various events in the battle by downloading mp3 files for each location into my smartphone. I followed the link to the website, clicked download on some of the files but was never able to see any of them in the files on my sd card or by using any of the apps I have downloaded, including "adobe reader," "music," "listen" or "music" apps I have installed. Must I download such files using a computer?

I download mp3 files all the time from the browser straight to the sd card... Either it is some sort of java based download service that is not working properly or if they are downloading and won't play, it may be an encoding issue.
