Disable annoying apps???

How do I make apps stop running in the background when I am not using them?
There are some that I don't even use that keep coming back when I stop them!

I have a question. What are the apps you're talking about? Some have settings to disable background activity. If it's bloatware, it's possible you can disable it completely.

There are also Task Killer apps that will stop a runaway app. Please bear in mind that the Android O/S is designed to keep some apps ready. For example, you look at an email and a friend sends a link. You go to that link, but the email app is still there, waiting for you to come back. A task killer will kill the app, but if the O/S is expecting you to go back it'll bring that app up again. Plus it will kill apps on its own if the need arises.
