Disable Auto-Update

Hello all,
I'm running a rooted Droid X with Froyo and Rubix and its been great for months, but twice in the last two days it suddenly starts "Downloading updates", reboots my phone, fails to install them, and reboots again, all without ever bothering to ask me for input.

About a month ago it tried this but actually asked if I wanted to update, and then asked if I wanted to install, and went away after it failed. Now it seems to be doing it on its own, and I'd really like my phone to not be shutting itself off whenever it feels like it.

From what I've been reading (old posts, admittedly), it shouldn't be doing this, but does anybody know how to stop it without restoring to stock, updating, and re-rooting? I'm pretty happy with my phone the way it is right now.

Thanks

Bumping for five times in five days, slightly less than 24 hours apart. Never any dialog asking if I want to download or if I want to install, but still blocked by Clockwork every time.

Nobody has a way to stop the forced download/update?
