disable smilies

is there any way to disable smilies on the messaging app? I hate how it shows it as emoticons, or is there a way to make messaging text size bigger?

I have to agree about the smilies, they can get quite annoying.
But you can make the text size bigger by going into a conversation and hitting the menu key -> more -> Resize text. The default is medium but there are two larger sizes.

I kind of miss the little Androids on my D1 and D2G. Anyone know a way to get them up on the D3?
