disabling auto launch of music player?

I have one MP3 ringtone on my phone, and now whenever I plug in my headphones, music player automatically launches and the only way I can turn it off is to "clear playlist". Is there a way to prevent this? Its very annoying.

I started a thread on somewhat the same issue. For me, the music player will start at random sometimes while I'm listening to Pandora, Droidlive, or iheart radio. A few other peiople responded with the same problem but nobody seems to have a fix for it or does anybody know why it happens. Someone stated they thought it had to do with static when inserting the headphones or wiggling them. Another person thought if they wiggled the camera button it would start the music player. As far as I know there is no fix and nobody seems to know why it's happening.

For what its worth, this just started happening since I put that mp3 on my phone. Never did it before that...which makes no sense. Coincidence maybe?
