Disabling home screens

Hi. I apologize if this has been asked, but I've been searching for a half an hour already and I can't seem to find anything about this.

Is there anyway with a rooted Droid to disable certain screens out of the 7? It must be an OCD thing with me because I only use 5 out of the 7 and the other 2 blank ones bother me.

Something tells me I'm going to have to install a Rom of some sort.

You could install a home replacement app, doesn't require root and some (like launcherpro or ADW.Launcher) let you choose how many home screens you want
