disappearing icons on home screen

Every now and then all of the icons that are on the main screen just up and disappear. Sometimes they come back if I restart, but usually I just end up with a blank screen and have to search through the pull-out menu to even use the actual phone. I have taken out the battery and put it back in to no avail. This is very frustrating and makes doing anything on the phone very inconvenient. ARGH what do I do?? Ok, just checked my phone and the apps are back...I wonder for how long though...

mine did that after a recent round of updates. i think handcent installed wrong because after i uninstalled and reinstalled it has not done it again

This was resolved earlier. Don't remember exactly but try searching.

Missing home screen apps - poof - all gone

Same issue for me. The 3 home screens all of a sudden loose all icons. Only recourse it re-boot. What is the problem/fix?

I had ATK running on my phone and was having the same problem you were. I have removed it from my phone and will see if it makes a difference. For what it's worth I'm running Helix as my homescreen, but it seems that everyone has this problem.
