Disappointed by weak signal (dropped calls)

I chose a Droid due to the fact that Verizon's network completely dominates here in central Virginia.

I currently have a Blackberry through work, and can count on one hand the number of dropped calls I've had in the last two years. And I'm on the phone ALOT.

I picked up an Incredible and love the phone overall. But I have weak/intermittent signal. That's sitting right next to a BlackBerry where I have perfectly clear calls.

I'm NOT talking about how many bars show up. I'm talking about trying to make a call and having it drop, or calls dropping in the middle of the call, or people's voice cutting in and out... NONE of that was a problem on my BB.

This makes me sad.

I did the *228 option 2 thing to update my roaming capabilities. Still no help.

I've read about others complaining, too, but wanted to know if anyone has figured this problem out yet?

I have not dropped any calls and I got the phone 6 days after it came out. Maybe you have a defective one

0 dropped calls here in Northern VA... well maybe one but i had 5 bars and was talking to an iphone user... ha prolly on at&t's end. Had Inc since day one.

Zero dropped calls for me, and no reception/signal issues here. Even in casinos (where I work) when others (AT&T/T-Mobile users) have trouble with signal strength. It works just as well as my moto droid, and haven't had 1 dropped call on either since I got them.

i guess the consensus is you should call customer service and try a replacement...

Mine works fine, stopped looking at the bars because they show one but it works like it's full. 3G is fast aslo.

My reception is definitely weaker than my Motorola Droid's in the same locations.

I'm in Northern VA on Verizon. Have had zero issues with the Verizon network and the sound clarity on the Droid is the best of any phone I've had.

Make a call to VZW, it's not right that you're getting dropped calls with the INC and VZW's network. 611....

Why? Because a few users are having problems, what about the majority of us who have no issues?
