diskcacheindex

I'm sure some 1 has asked but I searched here and A**Droid and couldn't find it.

What are the diskcacheindex****.tmp files and can the be deleted? Are they part of linux or an app that I d/l?

If they're in /sdcard the I say they're fair game to be deleted. If you're really worried about messing something up, just create another folder and move them in there. That way if something breaks you can just move them back.

IMHO, those files were probably left by an app that didn't clean up after itself properly.

I should have figured there would be a post about this already. I just now noticed these files being created in the main /sdcard directory and I have 12 of them so far. I'm not too bothered by it as in my experience, almost any cached data it is safe to get rid of. Just curious if anyone knows what causes them to be created. Most of them are only about 14bytes...
