DisplayMate Rates the Samsung Galaxy S5 Display "best smartphone display ever tested"

It looks like Samsung have really upped the ante in their smartphone display development. Even though the Samsung Galaxy S5 didn't have the 2K display that was rumored months ago, that doesn't mean that Sammy hasn't poured a number of technological advancements into it. In fact, the new display for the Samsung Galaxy S5 has already started winning awards before ever actually launching to the public.

The folks at DisplayMate took the Galaxy S5 through their battery of tests and came to the conclusion that the Galaxy S5 has the “best smartphone display ever tested," and includes a broad list of “new records.” Here's another quote from DisplayMate concerning their recent review of the SGS5,

In a span of just four years OLED display technology is now challenging and even exceeding the performance of the best LCDs across the board in brightness, contrast, color accuracy, color management, picture quality, performance in high ambient light, screen uniformity, and viewing angles …

Thee are some impressive words from a company as well-respected as DisplayMate. Of course, objective tests can only go so far. Ultimately, how the screen appears to each individual user will obviously be subjective. We can't wait to see it for ourselves.
