Do you use the slideout keyboard

Depends what i'm doing.

Playing a game, txting, certain apps = keyboard use

Watching a video, browsing, certain apps = no keyboard use

Once in a while, I'm trying to force myself into it, coming from an Iphone and then a Blackberry Storm.

You know what they say...third times a charm...:)

I use the slide-out for games, e-mails, posts on the web, and longer texts if I'm having an actual conversation. One-off texts, basic web browsing, tweeting, and other apps such as youtube all get the virtual keyboard. It isn't uncommon for me to send short texts without even switching to landscape. All three keyboards get good use :)

For all the flack the physical keyboard gets in reviews from time to time, I wonder why when all it does is create more options. Limiting your input methods would seem like a negative yet phones just as thick or more with only an onscreen keyboard get love. I'll stick to having choices for each scenario.

In this case, this post has been typed on the physical keyboard of the Droid. When I need to say something short and sweet, on screen is great. Again, choices and options are a good thing.

Very rarely, although Ive only had the phone for about 2 weeks. I use it in portrait about 85% of the time. When I do go landscape I will use the slide out occasionally in hopes that more practice with it will cut down on the amount of typos I get. Its nice to have the slide out option but IMO it was very poorly executed. Landscape virtual is very, very nice. I dont know why I dont use it more

I voted never but I have to admit I did use it once, and that was when doing the manual update to 2.0.1. Couldn't use the virtual keyboard for that.

I find myself growing more fond of the virtual keyboard as time passes on. Many times if I'm typing a large word I simply stop and look at the selection of words available and just press on the word itself. Seems like it saves time and insures accuracy. It was a huge learning curve from coming from a Storm and it's click screen.

I always use the physical keyboard. I'm new to the whole touch screen phone thing so....I suck at the virtual keyboard and I think it is really hard.

Its nice to have two keyboards though.

Hardly ever use the slide out keyboard. I'm not comfortable with it yet. Used to touch screens. I'll try to use it more, just to know it's layout.

this is my first smart phone and i just cant seem to get used to the touch screen keyboard..one of the big reasons i chose the droid was for the keyboard..it was a little odd at first..but now i am very quick on it..i really like it...
