hi i want to root my phone mostly just to overclock my phone just because i want a faster phone... please anyone know the easiest way to do this? link me plz? i cant find a easy way to do this

link in my profile - #4

simply, get setCPU (on xda) and a kernel, install in recovery, and ur set

yes you have to be rooted in order to have the ability to o.c. and you cant install kernals without being rooted

easiest way is to use a 1-click root then.

1. get ROM MANAGER
2. from RM- get a ROM (i use BUGLESS BEAST/ experiment and find the one you like.)
3. then from RM get a KERNEL to overclock higher than 800mhz (bb alone will put you at 800 but if you want more speed you need a kernel.
i use chevy no 1

everything you need to do all of this is in ROM MANAGER
ROM Manager - Android app on AppBrain

BTW, to root my droid 1 i used SOUP TO ROOT (a 1-click method) after 2 days of headache. I gave up on being a smarty pants and just did the cave man 1-click
