Droid 2 bootstrap not working?

I'm trying to use the Kousch droid2 bootstrap app to flash recovery so i can flash a cusotm rom. and im running into a problem.

I click 'bootstrap recovery' and it says

"error running exec()
command: [su, -c, ./data/data/com.koushikudutta.droid2.bootstrap/files/surunner.sh] working directory; null environment: null"

any reasons as to why? or what I can do to fix it?

Maybe you didn't press "accept" when Superuser requested it? If you didn't, you might have accidentally pressed deny. Go open superuser and check that Bootstrap is allowed.

for some reason it didn't give me the option to give superuser permissions. so sense i was only 'temporarily' rooted i rebooted. did the 'permanent root' option which caused a reboot. then went back into bootstrap. it gave me option to give superuser permission i hit yes and everything works.

I didn't think about the superuser permissions sense it didn't pop up. thanks for the help.
