CM9 is great! A lil buggy with sometimes reboots and lags but its great!

I was doing it wrong then... it looked nice, but did not run smoothly for me.. went back to cm7 for now, will try loading cm9 again using bootanager this time so I dont have to waste down time switching back and forth

Did you reload ICS google apps?

I used the recomended moto ICS gapps that were in the OP... not 110% sure what I did wrong, I will be more methodical this weekend when I try it again.
