Here it is!

This is a 2 part zip file. For this to work, you must be on stock 2.4.330 and rooted. This zip will update you to 4.5.606 firmware once installed. You will still have root once gingerbread is installed!

Instructions:

1. SBF back to stock. Make sure you are on 2.4.330
2. Root your phone.
3. Install Clockwork Recovery
4. Boot into Clockwork Recovery
5. Select 'Install zip from SD card'
6. Install part 1, and as soon as that completes, install part 2.

Enjoy!

Just to make sure,

1. Do you keep clockwork recovery?

2. Can you still SBF back to 2.4.330 from this?

I don't want to be stuck on blurry GB if its irriversible...

You can flash back to 2.4.29/330 if you like. It is not GB locked.

Does this delete info I have stored on the phone such as contacts etc? Not all of mine are synced with google.

does this really work? anyone tested?

It works flawlessly as long as you follow the instructions to the T. I've had TBHs rooted Gingerbread running since 11ish this morning and I love it, just the same battery drain like on froyo

if its not Boeing, I'm not going!!! TEAM BOEING SOUTH CAROLINA ROCKS!!!!!!

Yes and Yes. You will have to reinstall Droid 2 Bootstrapper application though. But the clockwork recovery will still be there.

Yes it does. That's the effect of wiping data, and SBFing. Back up your contacts to your SD Card

From Fission

I am on Fission on my d2global. It is rooted, 2.4.330 and has clockworkmod recovery. Do I still need to SBF back to stock or can I use these updates directly?

I'm not positive but I'm going to say yes to prevent problems. I was on HeXen and had to SBF twice cause issues arose the first time with it.

Another word of caution, if using android overclock, it will reboot your phone automatically after opening.
