Droid 2 in India

First off, forgive me, I am not terribly tech savvy so I apologise in advance for not knowing all of the technical terms of things :)

About two weeks ago I moved to Mumbai for a temporary work placement. I had Verizon in the states but since I am going to be gone about five months I thought it would be silly to continue paying for the service and though the phone is global compatible it does not make sense to be paying that much when I am using the phone only locally. Before leaving I got the unlock code from Verizon and upon arriving in Mumbai I bought a Vodafone sim card and was easily able to get the phone to work. It works just fine now but I am unable to get any kind of internet and data on it, and just texting/calling is not quite enough for me and my work.

According to Vodafone I should be able to access the internet after activating it through Vodafone. I've tried activating it and it is not working.

My question is whether or not there is something that I need to do to the phone to get it to comply with my Vodafone sim card? Please spell out what I would need to do simply because like I said I am quite clueless about these things.

Thanks!!

You might want to contact VZW at 800-922-0204 and they can answer that question for sure.
