Droid 2 Loss of Service

I have the Droid 2 and for some unknown reason when it charges "sometimes" it will randonmly say loss of service then service restored. My droid NEVER did this but this odd error has happend to the two droid 2 that I have. I always connect it to the desktop station and it is NOT rooted. Does anyone have any help for me?:icon_eek: Also the top of the phone gets really hot. Its not the battery as its on the bottom of the phone. from my asking at Verizon the apex of the phone has the antenna in it.:icon_eek:
