droid 2 problem

I just got my replacement phone for my droid 1, a new droid 2. I was happy until i started realising that this phone keeps opening up programs and running them in the background which keeps taking my available memory form around 180mb down to 20mb sometimes (thats a huge jump). i have advanced task killer and if i kill the apps within seconds they start opening again, without me doing anything. some of these programs i never even used like skype, news and weather, alarm and timer etc

delete ATK. let them run in the background. when memory is needed, it will shut them down itself.
