Droid 2 Ringer Problem

Out of nowhere today my droid 2 started acting strange. While navigating through different applications my "ringer volume" popup continued to come up without me touching the side volume buttons. It the volume stays maxed out and continues to beep at me when using the touch screen. I try to minimize the volume but right after i lower it, the volume goes to max. it's almost like i'm holding on the "volume increase" button. Has anyone experienced this?

I tried a battery pull which has not helped. I did get a little water on it about a week ago but have had no problems until now.

Thoughts?

Im guessing the water is taking its toll. It may not come up right away but water damage almost always tends to kick in sooner or latter.
