Droid 2 sending text messages by itself!

Hello all.

So my friend has the D2 and was telling me that his D2 is sending text messages by itself!

Any thoughts?

Yes I have been going through similar issues. Everytime my droid 2 turns off and I turn it back on, it'll always send two or more text messages that I have already sent to friends randomly. I don't know why it does this but i'd like to fix it!

Can you give us any more info on the situation?

This only happens when your screen is off? Is your phone plugged in at the time? What messaging app are you using? Rooted?

This used to happen with my DX when I first got it in July of last year, but the 2.2 update fixed it. It was extremely embarrassing and annoying.

Only when plugged in with screen off. Using the moto charger with the phone.
Non rooted and as stock as the day he got it.

Your 100% positive that he's using an official Moro Charger and not some off-brand one? This is generally the product of a cheap replacement charger.

But he said he was. He had a crappy phone before with a different charger so I assume its the only one he has.

If they are not using handcent suggest they get it and in the send settings check "prevent resend". I'm not sure if chomp has the setting and know the stock and Go do not .
