Droid 2 Unavailable?

I tried to find the Droid 2 on verizon's site today, but I couldn't find it. They had certified preowned D2s, the R2D2, and the D2 Global, but no normal D2. Is it hidden somewhere, or am I going to have to go with a used D2?

About a week ago, the D2 was listed at the bottom of the smartphone list on Verizon's website, with an "out of stock" sign on it. Then it disappeared from the list. That usually spells taps for the phone.

Awww... that's disappointing. I wouldn't ever use the global capabilities of the phone, and the lower battery life doesn't sound very good either. So I guess now the question is used Droid 2 or R2D2.

Ump are your serious? Get the dog its not as bad as everyone says I would never use global capabilities either however its an updated d2 you will not regret it

I know phones have short shelf lives, but it seems ridiculous to pull a phone that's only been out for three or four months.

Not in this case. Since a global version exist it only makes sense to pull the old version.

That doesn't mean that your D2 is any less of a Droid, that it's obsolete or anything like that. What it probably means is if you need warranty repaid somewhere down the road you may very well get a D2G. Refurb, that is.
