Droid 2 with Facebook

Hello guys,
If I sync my Droid 2 with Facebook, and I modify a contact (i.e name because I don't want full names in my contacts) will it sync again and put back the full names? If so, how often does it sync? I am just trying to keep my contacts clean pretty much like everyone else. Currently I have not synced with Facebook. I manually input my contacts through my Gmail contacts and sync it with my phone. Also I am just looking for any way to add the birthdays that I input into my contacts without having to make an appointment in the calendar for it to show up. Thanks in advance!

The best advice I can give is to remove your Facebook account via My Accounts on your Droid, and download the official application via the Market. You won't have to worry about it effecting your Contact List.

Facebook contacts sync exactly as they are on the site and can't be edited, so if you link it with a Gmail contact, then it'll use the full name.
Birthdays can be added now via the phone if you edit the contact and drill all the way down to "Additional Info" and click on the arrow on the right side (It's kinda small and easy to miss with your finger). THere's a "Dates" section with Birthday and Anniversary.
