i searched all over the internet but couldn't find an answer to my problem so here goes:
Last Friday i went camping up in lake George NY, up in the mountains where no cell signal can be found. I turned my phone off Friday afternoon and then turned it back on as i was leaving new york monday night, the phone turned on as usual, picked up 3g for about 10 minutes then dropped so all i had was 1x. its now thursday and i still cant the phone to connect to 3g. its driving me insane because if im not on wifi all i can do is txt/call

phone is a droid 2 running liberty gingerbread v.09 and it has been working flawlessly for months now, anyone have any ideas?

I recently had the same issue on my D2 running CM7. Lately, every time I reboot, I don't have cellular data unless I go into the settings and disable mobile data for about 30 seconds and then re-enable it. Give it a try.

you mean the airplane mode? ive tried that multiple times, also dialed *228 and did both options as well

No, in your settings go to battery and data usage. Where it says enable data, uncheck that and leave it unchecked for about 30 seconds. After that re-enable it and see if that works.

i tried the enable/disable data option and that had no effect at all, but yesterday i hooked my droid2 up to my pc and did a disk check and defragged the sd card on my phone and then rebooted my phone and the 3g service came right back! Only problem was that it lasted about 20 minutes then dropped again and never came back...
