Droid 2...?

Ok so I just got the Droid 2 for christmas, got it activated the 26th, and had it for a little over a month before the screen stopped working completely and had to get a new one. Last week, I had one of those "certified" phones shipped to me, and got it activated, and now a week later, this phone is now not working. I tried accessing my market earlier, and it said there was a problem. So thinking it may have just been a minor glitch, i closed it and tried re-opening it a few more times with no luck. I thought maybe if i tried turning it off and turning it back on, it might work. Once i did that, i turned it back on....and now i can't access ANYTHING. My icons aren't showing up, other than the ones already automatically on the screen like the menu button, contacts and dial pad, and even though those are on the screen I still can't access them. It loads the sd chip, the task killer icon shows up at the top so i can pull it down and kill apps, but then the screen goes black, and then it goes back to the home screen and my live wallpaper is still working....but i cant use my phone at all, and frankly this is a bit ridiculous. Anyone have any tips to help?? PLEASE???? I really don't want to have to get a new one AGAIN.

First off, I can't say if it contributed to your problem or not but task killers are a no no. They impede the system and cause a whole load of issues. You may try a factory reset but ultimately you may need to get a new device.

Factory reset?

I was reading some of the posts and never realized it was actually bad for the phone, they installed it for me when i got my first one and had to replace that one due to a screen issue so I didn't think that had anything to do with it so installed it on my new one...but it just seems like theres a really, really bad lag all of a sudden after i couldnt access the market and turned it off normally, and i have no idea why. It's been like this ever since i turned it back on 3 hours ago. I even tried taking the battery out and its just not working. This phone does not seem like its worth the money they are asking for.

It is indeed bad for the phone but the problem is a lot of Verizon people don't know it. But yeah. Factory reset may be what you need to do. It will clear out all the apps so if there's a rogue app causing the trouble it will be taken out of the equation.

I'm not too tech smart lol so would i have to take that to a verizon store to do so? Or would I be able to do it myself?

You can do it yourself pretty easily but fair warning, you will lose all your apps and contacts. But both should be backed up by Google. The way you would usually do it is from a phone on state but if you can use the phone then that's out of the question. So, turn the phone off and simultaneously hold the power button and the x key on the keyboard. When you see the Motorola logo let go of the power button and keep holding the x key until you see a little android and an exclamation point pop up on screen. Then release the x key and press the magnifying glass on the keyboard. This will get you in to recovery mode. Using the volume rocker, navigate to the option for factory data reset and use the camera button as an enter key.

Glad I could help. Stay away from task killers and anti virus apps and see if it stays stable for the next few days.

I will remember not to re-download that task killer again. This is something I am not willing to go through again.
