Droid 4. No sound on incoming texts all of a sudden

All of a sudden I no longer get sounds for incoming texts anymore. Any solutions?

No, nothing at all.

Can you play, say a YouTube video and it has sound?

Yes youtube has sounds. Phone rings and has sound. Incoming texts do not.

Just a thought do you have the volume linked between ringer and notifications? It could be the text notifications are silenced because they were unlinked. Should be in the sounds settings under volume.

That's a all good just the texts don't make sounds anymore

Don't really mean to bump a 3 month old threat but did you ever find a solution for this? I'm having this same issue now. All my other sounds work fine, including my ringtone. I even changed my text notification sound to something my phone came with and still, no luck.

Edit: Ok. Maybe not. I've been having this issue for days and finally gave up and told it to vibrate when a text came in. Now the sound works fine. Stupid phone....

Check into the settings menu, look for the incoming ring and notification volume levels, which can be overridden by selecting the check box, or not.
