Droid always says droid with txt

Why does my phone always say droid when I get a txt message even when I change my notification sound it still does it plz help!!

setting > sounds > notification ring tone > choose one > hit ok

going for the simplest answer. if you give more info on phone ie: stock, rooted, custom rom, etc. there maybe an alternative answer
