Droid Bionic's Display Technology... Last Of A Dying Breed?

The guys at this is my next, after playing with the new Atrix 2, noticed an improvement in the screen clarity and found out some interesting information. Apparently the old PenTile screen technology that was used on the Bionic's display is now a thing of the past, and the new Atrix is going back to the technology used on the OG DroidX.

The Bionic's display, even with this disability, is still rockin'. The screen is quite responsive, and when my review is posted tomorrow, you'll see why I like it so much.

Is it that bad? when I take pictures... they look pretty good on the screen. Then I upload them to facebook and the image is garbage!!! The screen makes nasty pictures look pretty decent...lol. In that case...I really like the screen.

Honestly, I love my Bionic, I can't even imagine a phone better than it, the screen is stinkin great.


I have know idea why some people are having problems with this phone, I am just as happy with it now as the day I got it (day after release).

There's some bugs that have to be worked out. Camera sucks * though. Sad when my OG droid outperforms this 8mp camera. I'm just happy that this soon to be obsolete pentile screen makes the nasty picture it takes... beautiful. Just don't upload any onto your computer because it looks way better on the Bionic's screen..lol.dancedroid

Seems like Moto realized they crapped the bed with the screen on their new devices. True, the brightness and outdoor visibility is amazing, but it's not amazing enough that the majority of users forgive the crappy pixelation and color reproduction. Hopefully, they move forward with some sort of a hybrid, combining the look, clarity and sharpness of the old screens and the brightness and outdoor visibility of the new screens.

I'm getting 20+ hours of battery life on 4G and or wifi. Hope the new displays aren't power hogs!

Interesting stuff. I played with a Bionic briefly and the screen looked just fine to me. The outdoor visibility is a big plus I wasn't aware of. Not happy with the camera, but I'm not a big pictures guy anyway. I definitely have mixed feelings about the Bionic and will wait a few weeks to see if one of the other superphones comes out.

Yes you are wrong. Because if you reread my post...although the camera sucks ...the screen makes it look nice . I could care less if the screen sucks or not. I love the speed and ability to customize this phone.

I don't watch hardly any video on my phone, so I'm thinking better visibility outdoors is a good trade-off for me.
