According to a recent post at BGR.com, Verizon has confirmed the Droid Charge will release on May 14th (Tomorrow!). The new Droid will launch with a price tag of $299, which seems a little high considering the specs. Our Droid charge is in route and expected to be delivered sometime today, so we'll have a short review posted soon!

Verizon has confirmed with BGR that the device will become available for purchase Saturday, May 14th, online and in stores across the country.

** Update ** Some retail Verizon Wireless stores are selling the Droid Charge now!

Looking forward to the review! A lot of negative going on about this phone, but I just don't see it as a terrible device.

I would get it if it weren't so expensive. I'll wait until late summer to see if they have anything better which I'm sure that they will

I think I will stop by a Verizon store and check it out, but I have no interest in paying $300 for a phone that isn't dual core. I just have a hard time with the idea that they think their phone is worth any more than the TB. The fascinate unrooted was a little sluggish from what I've seen and it was 1GHz, so I hope they got that issue resolved with the Droid Charge.

I checked it out in the store today. Although the price is steep, reviews are mixed, the back is plastic and it is not dual core, I really want this phone. The super AMOLED+ screen is absolutely beautiful. However, I can't deny the fact that there is a better phone floating around out there in the Galaxy S2, and since this phone appears as if it is going to be unpopular. So, it will get little dev support and I will be stuck with Launcher Pro running over Touch Wiz.

So I too will pass. This phone has a lot of potential though, but I don't think it will ever be realized.
