Droid crackled sounds, wouldn't boot.

The strangest thing happened today. I got a couple of different notifications that sounded very crackled and skipped.

I haven't seen anything like this before. One of my notifications did work just fine, so I thought I'd reboot and see if that helped.

Upon reboot I got the the glowing red eye for longer than usual, then it just powered off.

Finally after pulling the battery everything seemed to be ok. Anyone seen anything like this before? If it helps any this droid is loaded with the regular stock software (i.e. no root).

i've never seen or heard of your problem! did you install a new app that might have hijacked yur droid?

I'm not sure. I had some issues all related to the audio, but it seems to have resolved itself. The only notable thing I did was to uninstall Sportstap, and I only did that because it had 3 background services all running at once.

well i'm glad it's fixed :D i only use sportstap during football and baseball season so it's uninstalled until those start back up. it worked fine for me but there could have been an intermittent update that i missed that caused the problem. it's always good to narrow down problems just in case someone else starts having the same one:D thanks for your reply papy:D

My mom had that issue with hers. I told her to power down and remove the battery. When she put in the new battery, all was well. She thought she fried a battery though... Both the phone and the battery are fine now.

My Droid often needs to reboot. When it gets weird, I know it needs to be turned off. It a simple reboot doesn't fix it, then a shut down and pull the battery usually does.
