Droid doesn't always respond on first touch

Does anyone else see this? Often when I touch a button, link, etc. on the screen, it highlights yellow, then does nothing.

To me the fact that it turns yellow means it registered the touch. But I have to touch it again, and maybe even a third time before it finally responds.

Is my Droid defective?

I'm not sure. Mine does this thing where it'll jump to the bottom of the page (if for example I'm browsing a webpage that is very long) when I touch a spot and clearly do not intend to swipe or scroll... it's frustrating. I assume it is an OS issue, but I think it's annoying regardless.

I had a lot of these issues and did a full factory reset. I was not syncing with google properly so I basically got a pristine Droid back and it works perfectly. First touch always works, battery life hugely better. I suspect I had a rogue app but who knows what it was.

but............

I still get that fast scroll to the bottom thing.
