Droid Eris Problems with 2.1

anyone else having problems?

my brother says that sometimes his phone will call the wrong person since he got the 2.1 OTA update (he's not rooted)

Also one of his contacts randomly disappeared, then reappeared later.

Also it didnt pull his contacts from the cloud days after the update, and he had to input them again himself.

Can anyone help? I want to root his phone, but he wants to take it into verizon first

the main problem is that his eris calls random contacts (on occasion) when he's trying to call someone else

what could cause this. He says it's due to the 2.1 ota update

please help
