Droid Eris

I am new to this forum and a new Droid Eris by HTC phone user. I have seen lots of info on Motorola Droid but none on Eris. I was looking at "how to root" and the instructions say to hold down the X key while powering up. My phone does not have a hard keyboard (only on screen)

Any ideas or is there another forum for HTC Droid Eris users.
