DROID Incredible recieves 1st OTA Update

Hey folks,

the icredible isnt out yet for very long. But a lot of users experienced bad radio and some weird wifi bugs. Know an OTA Update had been pushed out secretly to the devices, without a release note or anything. only screenshots can confirm it right now.

-Showing read / old messages as new.

-Bluetooth handsfree voice dialing.

-Home screen / call screen rotation. (For use with car docks)

-No activesync support. (I know not a bug but is an issue)

Should I go on?

Because HTC is a MUCH better (i.e. more competent) company than Motorola. They (HTC) also care a lot about their end-users unlike Moto.

hmmm...I have a pop account that seems to be updating fine, haven't seen my old messages showing as new and the car dock thing doesn't bother me. To each his own, but a phone will never be perfect no matter who the carrier/manufacturer is. And yes you can go on if you like

If I did use Bluetooth, the handsfree voice dialing thing would suck though...

What exactly are you missing with activesync? It is a terrible technology and I'm synced to a corporate Exchange server w/o it.

I'm going to have to agree with you on this.

I'm not trying to be argumentative or bash on a company but this statement is far from the truth.


HTC is notorious for shipping out sub par cheap hardware (radio, touchscreens)

I'm not speaking about one device. I'm speaking in general. They make a new device every other day you would think they would get it right or at least flip for better hardware.

I don't call that caring about their end-users. One of the biggest reasons I jumped ship on RIM beside's Android was poor build quality and skimping on QA. I will not support companies that practice business like this.

Motorola builds a lot of their phones to Mil-Spec so they know what they are doing and you cannot deny that the Droid is one of the best, if not the best, built smartphone on the Market.

Again I don't want to make this into a war of phones.

I for one have had nothing but good experiences with Motorola customer support over the years.
