Droid - lost apps on SD card after factory reset

I moved 6 of my apps to the SD card on my Droid X Froyo 2.2

However, after bringing the Droid back up, the SD card only seemed to contain my Music and Photos. Where did the apps go? I installed again from the Market but that's not the point!

What exactly do you mean by "bringing the Droid back up"?

Doing a factory reset always emptied the .adroid_secure folder on my SD card. And that is where the apps get moved to when you put them on the SD card via manage applications.
I really couldn't find a way around this. I simply had to reinstall the apps then move them back to the SD card.

Any way around this would open paid apps to be able copied for free..... As everyone knows this is not allowed here on DF.

I certainly wasn't implying to make the apps available (especially paid apps). I didn't even think of it until you mentioned it here.
I was just trying to figure out a way to not have to move the apps to the SD card again after a reset. But since you're doing a full factory reset, you basically end up with no installed apps from the market, so it only makes sense that this folder would get cleaned as well.
