Droid MB870 will not power on unless the charger is plugged in

I have a Droid MB870 and it will not turn on unless the charger is plugged in.it hasn't been dropped or gotten wet.if its turned on and I unplug it then it will shut itself off and wont turn back on unless I plug it in.can someone please help me figure this out?

Welcome to the forum ...so your Droid X2 after you plug it in and leave it plugged what do you see for battery percentage on the status bar ... it's possible the battery needs to be replaced ...

It would show the battery was full but the second I unplugged the charger it would shut off.I just preformed a hard reset with it turned off and now it is coming on without the charger connected.so im hoping this is a long term fix and nothing short term.it was a shot in the dark but seems to have worked!! I hope!!

Well that was short lived.lol..any help would be awesome.it shows full battery.

I'd try to clean the battery connections. If that don't work, it could be that the battery is done

A Q-tip works good. Also, if you have a multimeter you can see if the battery has a charge. If the battery & connections are good, there may be something broken inside the phone, maybe from a drop
