Droid messaging

I was wondering if there was a way to save your messages (texts not emails) from the droid or sync them to gmail if possible? I have to get a new droid today because mine broke but i didnt want to delete the messages and wanted to save them somehow..Is this possible? thanks.

i know you can forward threads (not exactly syncing i know, but if you wanted to save some important ones i guess) hold down on the one you want, then a menu pops up giving you the option to forward.

Are you using the stock app or a different one?

I tried what you described, but I'm not getting any option to forward my threads at all on the stock messaging app.
