Any opinions on this phone? I have the original Moto Droid, looking to upgrade and was looking at the Droid Pro, I want a physical keyboard and I want droid.

Thanks!

IMO go for the D3 if you can. Should be able to find a decent price for it with the D4 out.

The Pro is a good phone, but going from a 3.7" WVGA res display to a 3.1" HVGA res display is a pretty big jump.

I had it and I loved the portrait qwerty keyboard. I did, however, get tired of the smallish screen (and low resolution), especially when coming from a Droid 2. Overall I did love the phone though, that is for sure.

I jumped from the OG Droid to the Droid Pro. I am more an email, text guy than a video gamer. The screen is not a issue. I wanted the physical keyboard. Rooting and flashing ROMs are a breeze.

Yeah, not a gamer either, also want the physical keyboard. Now I am trying to decide between the droid 3 and the droid pro. I can get the pro now free, the droid 3 is still $150, would wait for that to drop if I go with it.....just not sure. Uuggghhhhhh decisions, decisions!!

Loved mine but needed 4g hotspot so I upgraded. The one really annoying thing was the backlight would shut off at random and wouldnt come back on until a soft reset. Makes it really hard to type when you can't see the keys

No 4g here and don't see it coming any time soon, I live out in BFE, middle of nowhere. I am leaning towards the Droid 3 now for the dual processor and 8M camera, like those features, also like the 5 row keyboard. Will have to wait for the price to drop first though.

Will I see a major difference in speed (response time) with the Droid 3 compared to the original droid I have now? Anybody know?

Still wondering if I will see a big difference in speed with the droid 3, especially while tethered, compared to the original moto droid I have now?

Network, aka 3G speed? Probably none.

Hmm, then what is the advantage of having a 1G dual core processor??

UPDATE! I went with the Droid 3, love it!!! Not a big difference from my Droid original but much faster, great screen color, great features, apps. And best of all I got it from Amazon for 1 cent!!! That was it, 1 cent, some free cool apps, car charger, 2 day free shipping (came in 1 day). Yup, I am a happy camper :)
