Droid RAZR Corporate Sync issue

New Member
I have had a Verizon DROID RAZR MAXX since January '12, and it has been great. I work for a global company, and access to emails via the corporate sync was working well... until a week ago. All of a sudden the corporate sync server stopped pushing the emails to the device. Server verification results in "success", but a notification immediately pops up with a "connection error". Gmail, texts, phone and all apps appear to be working fine. We actualy did a factory reset, which did not fix the problem. I have had my company's internal IT, Verizon IT and a contract IT service tech trying to figure out what's going on. Everyone is stumped. Is anyone else having this problem? Any help would be awesome. Thanks

Hello and welcome!

Are you using the stock exchange / email app that came on the phone? Have you possibly considered trying a 3rd party app from the Market (Moxier. Touchdown, K9)?

Welcome to Droid Forums!! Hopefully it get's all figured out and working in no time!!

Everything was working fine had to change the password yesterday and verification results in a "success" and then instatnly have a connection error. Did you find a solution.

My company IT guy and a third party Verizon IT service worked together, and started thinking that there is a memory issue with Outlook and the way the exchange server pushes the emails to the droid. I'm not very computer literate, but I think I have that right. Because it was working fine, then just stopped, we did a factory reset (which was not necessary, and now I wish I hadn't done it...lost alot of apps and downloads) to start from scratch. The reset didn't make a difference, because I still got the connection error. So I looked at the amount of files in my mailbox by using Tools/Mailbox Cleanup. I finally figured out that I must archive as much data as possible to keep my total mailbox folder size below160-165,000 KB. My company limit is 300, but the Droid stops receiving emails well before I hit that. This is not a mailbox file size limit that was given to me by anyone, or written in any literature. It was "hit or miss" experimentation, that lead to me see that if/when I kept the mailbox (mostly inbox and sent) to a minimum, the droid would work, and I would not get the connection error. I started with the Inbox, and clicked on Size column, then got as many of the largest emails (by MB) filed and kept to a minimum. I get about 200 emails a day, so this needs to be done each day. I archive/vault into files, and once vaulted the emails don't count against my mail box limits. Hope that helps...
