Droid Razr Screen Turning White

The screen on my Droid Razr has started turning white for about 1 second then back to normal. This is happening 3-5 times a day. Could this be a sign my screen is about to die? I can't afford a new phone at the moment so I am hoping there is another explanation. Any ideas?

The screen has completely died now so it seems that was an indication it was on its way out. Thankfully USB is still working and I can backup my data. Now on the hunt for a cheap Android phone...
