I noticed this a few days ago. I thought there might have been something that got corrupt with the OS or a bad app that was installed. After heavily troubleshooting, I finally decided to do a factory reset and reinstall 2.2
This still did not fix the Status LED. the LED will not light up any color, even when I download the LED test app to change the LED different colors. I dropped the phone about a month ago from a really low height, and could have sworn it worked after that. Maybe something finally got knocked loose?
Does anyone know if the LED is able to be repaired and if there are any guides? I am not scared of soldering and the like, and am very familiar with small electronics. I just want to know what I am getting myself into before I take this guy apart.
Thanks!
Edit: For future reference, I found a link to this teardown guide. It appears that the LED is on the earpiece ribbon which can be bought for about 40$. Anyone have experience with this?
