Droid Sync software for Windows Vista

Hello everyone...I'm new to the forum and not terribly literate when it comes to all this phone to computer stuff; so, forgive me if this is yesterday's discussion. I am trying to find the correct software to download so that I can sync my contacts list and calendar to my laptop. I see several options on the home page; however, they appear to be third party (i.e. not google based).

Can anyone please advise me on where to download the software and get it up and running on my computer?

Please be more specific...are you talking about your gmail contacts and calender items on the phone?

Specifically, I have my contacts list which is for my hotmail account. According to the sales guy, I was required to open up a gmail account before I could link my droid to my hotmail account. I do not use gmail....only my hotmail. The calendar is the one contained in the phone.

You will need to transfer your hotmail contacts to Gmail then link your hotmail account to your Gmail account. You can find info on how to do this in Google mail

I would need more info about what calendar software you are using but the phone syncs Google colander automatically. I have my outlook calendar set to sync with my Google calendar which then syncs to the droid.

Help with MS Calendar and Contacts

You will need to transfer your hotmail contacts to Gmail then link your hotmail account to your Gmail account. You can find info on how to do this in Google mail

Brucin, could you let me know how to do the outlook to google calendar sync so that I can have my MS Outlook calendar on my phone. What about syncing my contacts list from Outlook also?

Get google calendar sync.that will sync the calender. There are some free apps to sync contacts but I have not used them.
